In an effort to bring our premium quality to a broader audience, we developed the Stanley Clarke Signature Standard bass. With all the same dimensional and electronics features of the Signature Deluxe basses, we've just trimmed some of the decorative goodies to bring the price a little lower.
Many are surprised to learn that the Stanley Clarke Signature Standard bass features a short scale length. Despite the fact that Stan is a tall man with large hands, the short scale means the strings are more flexible. The frets are naturally closer together compared to a long scale, which makes the bass incredibly comfortable - and fast - to play. It just feels "right." Fly even faster with the narrow taper fingerboard, new for 2008.
